I wanted to complete your “Have your say” survey on line which I understood from your flyer was available to download from your website. Unfortunately I can’t find it, so will now fill in the paper version and go to the post box! Is it just me, or have I missed something?

Brexit as it seems to be the labour parties position to support the conservative party on brexit and cease to be an opposition I would like to know your personal position on the impending disaster of brexit and the undoubtedly horrendous outcome for South Wales as more companies move to Europe taking there jobs with them

I have been a life long labour voter but fear I will not be able to vote Labour in the future

Just wanted to ask if you would be interested in getting external help with graphic design?

We do all design work like banners, advertisements, photo edits, logos, flyers, etc. for a fixed monthly fee.

We don’t charge for each task. What kind of work do you need

on a regular basis? Let me know and I’ll share my portfolio with you.

Ebbw Vale, Newport Rail connection.

Just to prove a point trains were running into Newport Station today, Saturday 17thFebruary, vie Park Junction and Gear Tunnel. Only because of engineering work on the Newport to Cardiff main line, replacement bus service to Cardiff. Therefore the infrastructure is in place. Why not an alternate train service, ie Ebbw Vale to Newport then on to Cardiff, return direct to Ebbw Vale. Then Ebbw Vale to Cardiff return via Newport to Ebbw Vale. Also how about considering a Station stop at Cardiff Road, Maesglas at the back of Harlech Park retail centre. In order that passengers can make use of the bus services on the Cardiff Road routes. I hope that my suggestions may help you with your discussions with the WAG.

Regards Gary Davies.

Hi Jane, I have been watching the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and remembering how we

enjoyed them in Cardiff back in the 70s and 80s. What I would like to ask is why has the Welsh Assembly not considered holding such an event in Cardiff Castle. We have the facilities in Wales and I think we are missing a great opportunity to advertise Wales through the Tattoo. Having watched Edinburgh’s tattoo and the multi cultural display from so many different counties of the world you realise just what we are missing out on. Could this be taken up with the Assembly Member who would deal with this suggestion. It was suggested that the Cardiff Tattoo was dropped because of cut backs but I think we should show case Wales through the Tattoo. I’m sure sponsorship of such an event could be arranged through a financial organisation like RBS who sponsor the Edinburgh Tattoo. After watching this tonight I really think this would bring so many visitors to Wales as it was quoted that all displays were sold out and accommodation throughout Edinburgh was also sold out. Would you please pass this on for consideration.

Good Morning Jayne

I have just read that Katie Hopkins has been invited to speak in Welsh schools.

I am absolutely appalled and shocked.

This is the way Hitler indoctrinated the youth.

This woman holds the most vile, repulsive, bigoted views and should not be allowed anywhere near any children in an attempt to spout her vitriol and hate.

I have contacted Jason Hughes who is my local councillor and am contacting you to protest most strongly.

I will leave this matter in your most capable hands

Kind regards

Thank you for your letter re your visit to Lucas Street on the 17th of this month. I would like to express my concern about two issue that I think are important. Firstly the state of the surface of Mill Street just around the corner from where I live. Secondly we have a parking issue on the same street. The surface is badly potholed and full of temporary repairs. In a winter the water gets into the cracks, freezes and lifts the tarmac. To say that the road is uneven is a understatement. You will see what I mean on your approach on Monday. Regarding the second issue, parking, this is in my view an accident waiting to happen. This road is used by the Post Office vehicles and vehicles belonging to other businesses on Factory Road. Sometimes we have large lorries trying to gain access to these businesses. Again I am sure you will see the problem on Monday although by early evening a lot of the parked cars have gone. They take no notice of the double yellow lines and the zig zag lines by the zebra crossing. You can approach this crossing and your view of the crossing is restricted by parked cars. also that fact that they are parked on double yellow lines restricts the width of the road to single file traffic. No one does anything about either of these problems.

We have only just returned from Holiday and received your letter hence the late response. I look forward to meeting you should you have time available.

Regards Brian Clark

Jayne when canvassing this morning came across Ray Powell of 11 Ridgeway Hill – long standing active supporter and friend of Paul from Lliswery days. They tried to contact you re a NHS issue 4 weeks ago at yr Cardiff office and no response. He said he know of 4 others with an inability to obtain a response when making contact. Wonder if others have similar issue? Well worth a visit – he was quite upset. Also, he mentioned an Indian Magistrate who had similar experience. best David

Illegal Parking in and around the Civic Centre area of Newport! As a regular rail commuter, I am constantly dismayed by the level of illegal parking on double yellow lines and other restricted areas in Godfrey road, Devon Place, Serpentine road & Gold tops. It is ironic that our Council tax & the Policing payment aspect of that levy will be increasing again this year when Gwent Police fail to collect the illegal parking revenue correctly since we have lost traffic wardens in Newport. I counted 60 cars illegal parked in a around the Civic centre one day last week and some cars were parked so badly they were causing other road users difficulty in seeing oncoming traffic. This is without doubt, an accident waiting to happen due to failure to enforce the law by issuing penalty notices as there is currently no real deterrent for continual offenders!

I’m concerned that the proposed M4 relief road appears to have been put on the back burner due the involvement of Plaid. There is an urgent need for this to proceed as the present M4 is totally inadequate.

Can you assure me that this matter will be dealt with as soon as possible?

Receipt of Campaign Letter

Dear Jayne,

I thank you for your Campaign Letter in which you stress the importance of using my vote on Thursday 5th May 2016 for the election of candidates for the Welsh Assembly Government.

Because of my health problems I have a postal vote, which I filled in and my Carer Sylvia checked that I had put all the ballot papers in the correct envelopes.

If you are elected as the Welsh Assembly Member for Newport West, then I sincerely hope that you will fulfil the promises that you have made in your letter.

At my age 72, I’m afraid that I have become very cynical over the years about all politicians of all parties both in this Country and abroad.

Best wishes,

Jayne, Good luck in the election this week. I no longer live in Gwent, but I am very concerned about the Assembly proposals to choose the worst route for the M4 relief road, when cheaper, quicker-to-implement and much less environmentally damaging alternatives exist (the Blue Route) which would also not affect the docks. I hope you are elected, and when the dust settles after the election I’d be keen to hear from you about this. I was always impressed by the thoughtfulness of John Griffiths AM on this issue, and I hope you’ll weigh up the alternatives once elected. I’ll send you my formal objection to the proposal to your campaign email address. All the best, Julian

Welsh Assembly Election

Please can you explain why I have a White and Orange Ballot paper, both for electing members of the Assembly

I understand the single person Ballot paper, Orange. But on the White Ballot paper are groups of persons

I am confused as to how each group would work in the Assembly

Could you explain

Thank you
