Caerleon Training College Recommended for Listed Status

The Cabinet Secretary for Economy and Infrastructure has announced that his intention is recommend the listing by Cadw of the Caerleon Training College. If passed this will provide extra protections for the building in the event of any application to alter it or change it’s use.

In my opinion this is a positive step. It was very disappointing that the University of South Wales decided to close the Caerleon Campus and this decision will be hopefully well received by local residents.

I know my colleagues, the local councillors, will continue to work hard to get the best possible outcome for Caerleon.
