I’m supporting Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month 2016. The main theme of this year’s awareness month – which runs through March – is promoting early diagnosis of ovarian cancer.
Each year 7,000 women across the UK are diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and its impact on individuals and families can be devastating. Research from Target Ovarian Cancer illustrates that early diagnosis of the disease is absolutely vital – when a women is diagnosed at the earliest stage, her chance of surviving ovarian cancer for five years or more rises dramatically from under 50% to over 90%.
We need to all we can to promote early conversations with GPs.
