Yesterday I was able to visit Pill Pharmacy with Welsh Government Health Minister Mark Drakeford AM. Both Mark and I were able to chat with the team based there to understand the work they do and the challenges they face.
Pill Pharmacy is a fine example. It is in the heart of the community of Pill and offers a great range of services; including free blood-monitoring, diabetes checks and smoking cessation. Open earlier this year, the pharmacy has gone from strength to strength. Pharmacists have a wealth of experience and knowledge. They can provide useful advice which can take pressure away from GPs and hospitals.
Pill Pharmacy, owned by Asim Ali, was nominated as a finalist in 2 categories at the 2015 Welsh Pharmacy Awards, and won the prize for the Independent Pharmacy Practice of the Year Award.
The Argus covered the story in today’s paper and you can read the story on the link below.
