St David Awards – Let’s Recognise Newport’s Exceptional People

The St David Awards are the national awards for Wales.
Nominations are now open for the St David Awards. This is an opportunity to recognise the exceptional people of Newport who give so much back to their community. We have never had a winner from Newport and I think now is the right time!

This is the fourth year the Awards have been awarded and the intention is to reflect and promote the aspirations of Wales and its citizens. They highlight Wales as a modern, vibrant country, with a growing reputation as a confident nation valuing innovation, community spirit, and above all its people.

There are 8 publicly nominated categories, giving us the opportunity to recognise and celebrate people from all walks of life in Wales. The categories are

Bravery

Culture

Citizenship

Culture

International

Enterprise

Innovation Science and Technology

Young Person

Finalists in each category will be announced on 16 February 2017 and winners will be announced on 23 March 2017, along with the winner/s of First Minister’s Special Award. More information can be found at http://stdavidawards.org.uk/?skip=1&lang=en
