Usdaw in Newport working hard to protect rights at work

It was great to meet with Usdaw members in Newport to support the work the union does in protecting workers hard-fought workers’ rights and conditions.

The union is involved in great work here in Newport, and runs excellent local and national campaigns all year round. Usdaw’s Freedom from Fear campaign is an excellent initiative designed to reduce harassment and abuse received by shopworkers. The union are also committed to raising awareness of the problems their members face on journeys to and from work, and have opposed controversial UK Government changes to Sunday trading laws. I’m proud to support Usdaw’s good work in Newport and across the South Wales and Western Region.
